A good career is often started with a good education. Scott Herckis worked hard to become educated and ready for the job of CEO. He began his preparation by earning his Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a major in accounting degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He then earned his CPA while working at Arthur Andersen’s Audit and Assurance Department. He worked at Arthur Andersen’s Audit and Assurance Department for five years which allowed him to gain practical knowledge and skills regarding finance while working on large corporate accounts including the Sheraton Hotels and Cadbury Schweppes. It was after this that Scott Herckis started his own company and became CEO of SJH Financial.
While a student at the University of Texas at Austin, Scott Herckis gained a significant interest in the financial industry that led to his eventual founding of SJH Financial — based in Stamford, Connecticut. This company CEO graduated from the school with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. He began working with Arthur Andersen’s Audit and Assurance Department where he remained for five years, also earning his CPA. He gained significant experience in this role, assisting large corporate clients including Sheraton Hotels and Cadbury Schwepps. He departed following a successful career serving as a controller, Vice President of Finance and later a CFO. It was in 2009 that Scott Herckis founded SJH Financial, helping financial clients — specifically business owners — through his own company.
CEO Scott Herckis knew he wanted to work in business for a career, so began studying at the University of Texas for his undergraduate degree. After completing his degree, he then worked his way up the accounting and finance ladder with companies in the fashion and apparel industry as a controller, then a Vice President of Finance and eventually as Chief Finance Officer.
After working at large firms for quite some time, CEO Scott Herckis decided he wanted more than simply numbers and business, he wanted to take the wisdom he had gathered from his previous large, conglomerate jobs and use that knowledge to help small business owners to make the best financial decisions possible for their future. He saw that often times, many small business owners were being lumped into mass corporate suggestions and felt that they needed advisement based on sound and objective data. CEO Scott Herckis was given the opportunity to learn how the financial world worked and used his leadership skills to oversee the financial departments of these large corporations. Therefore, after gaining that wisdom, in 2009, he launched his own firm, SJH Financial.
With his new company, he is now able to carry out his passion for helping small business owners. SJH Financial offers advisement to small and medium businesses as well as complete tax preparation for businesses and individuals in addition to his primary interest which is to provide comprehensive financial and accounting services.
SJH Financial works from a basic premise that its founder, Scott Herckis, holds very closely, that financial advice is worthless if the person receiving it has no idea how to use it. That’s why the company delivers its financial expertise with a lot of sage wisdom, much like Scott Herckis himself. The financial experts at SJH Financial don’t just tell clients how to make money and what to do with it, they explain why they are doing what they are doing and what it means to their overall strategy.
When you are looking for outside financing for your business, the first round can be very intimidating. That is one reason Scott Herckis created SJH Financial in 2009. He has a passion for assisting small business owners in making financial decisions that benefited them the most. That’s why the one thing that sets Scott Herckis and SJH Financial apart from many other financial counselors is his ability to communicate everything to his clients when it comes to every aspect of finance.
Before starting SJH Financial, Scott Herckis earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting at the University of Texas at Austin. Then, he earned his CPA as he worked with the Audit and Assurance Department at Arthur Andersen for five years. While there, he worked with a number of large corporate clients, including Sheraton Hotels and Cadbury Schweppes. After Arthur Andersen, he continued to increase his profile in the accounting and finance, working with companies in the fashion and apparel industry as a controller, then as a Vice President of Finance and, eventually, as CFO.
If you have a business and you’re looking to get your finances under control, or you want better budgeting and forecasting solutions, Scott Herckis and SJH Financial can help you make the best possible decisions to drive your future growth.
